ParkerSteel Limited is moving towards the future by investing £2.5mln in more fuel efficient and lower-carbon DAF Trucks NV. To help keep the garden of England green, the British-built fleet was selected for its environmental prowess as it boasts 6% lower fuel consumption saving over 60,000 miles a year. In addition, the sleek new fleet is kitted out with an innovative management system to help optimise the running of the vehicles and enhance logistical proficiencies. Plus, with a higher load capacity, more customers will be reached in a single journey and even better efficiency achieved. All in all, this adds up to quicker, cleaner and more environmentally friendly delivery of steel.

This announcement has come after the company’s widely praised support of manufacturing and industry throughout the lockdown period. Their dedication to supplying UK businesses with steel required for critical work, ensured projects such as the Nightingale Hospitals and other essential frontline services were able to go ahead. Replacing some of our current fleet with a greener alternative, that is built in Britain, will be seen as a torchlight to others in the steel industry across the UK and demonstrate how we as a nation should move forward in order to save our economy and the environment.
